For a brief glimpse of the history of Reebok you have to go back to the 1890-1930′s era. It was at this time J.W. Foster was to start a business making the first known running shoes. The company was founded in Bolton UK and was soon making shoes by hand for top athletes. It wasn’t long before J.W Foster & Sons developed international recognition by distinguished athletes.
It was in 1958 that a companion company was set up by Joe and Jeff Foster that came to be known as Reebok. The name came from the Afrikaans spelling of rhebok, a type of gazelle. Today the Reebok’s headquarters are based in Canton, Massachusetts, USA and their products are in footwear, accessories and sportswear.
